this is so beautiful and the spider is weaved in so well !!! good luck with ur move to san francisco! I visited there last year and I miss it so much :,)
I really enjoyed this! I feel like I developed a bit of a parasocial relationship with you through your Substack and always told myself that maybe one day, I’d reach out and see if you wanted to get coffee—but then I never did so exactly because I always felt certain there would be a little more time, another opportunity. But of course, that’s just the human nature of deluding ourselves because we do love certainty and the idea of more time above all else. New York will miss you, but I look forward to your musings from another locale!
Awww thank you Cece! I wish I would have taken the time to organize some kind of meet up before moving (time has kinda slipped away from me), but I feel motivated now to organize something like that when I visit in the future so I can meet mutuals/subscribers! <3
I really enjoyed this read! So thoughtfully written, and made me garner a deeper respect for both Mary Oliver (her poem Invitation is my life mantra) and spiders. It’s my senior year of high school, and often it can be so tempting to attempt to fast-forward through the idle periods and wish to be done with all the tests and exams and arbitrary standards for success, but I’m trying to be more mindful, and soak in the last few months at a place I’ve grown up in my whole life. Thank you for sharing your essay!
Well done. Reminded me of the sweet times I had in the mid 60' listening to music at the
Jazz workshop on Broadway in San Francisco.I'm positive you will enjoy your time there.

loved this so much, made me tear up a lil
Aw thank you so much :))
Beautiful musing. It’s brave if you to not make yourself hate New York before you leave. It speaks to your character.
Your description of the story with the spider had me enthralled, and also near to tears.
Aw thank you :) it’s from “Swoon” by Mary Oliver, my favorite essay in her book “Upstream”
Loved this. New York will miss you - but good things ahead ;)
Thank you :)) <3! Many good things ahead ;)
Another superb essay! Always look forward to these every Sunday!
Thank you Joey! :)
This was such a beautiful meditation on change!
