this piece verbalized thoughts I've had swirling around in my brain for a long time. formative teenage years spent on apps like Kik and Snapchat primed many of us for a world founded on digital connection. I'm finally reaching an age where I'm tired of living that way. I, too, crave a tangible existence, to not have relationships only validated by threads and threads of messages on apps, but rather to exist in real life with people. I constantly juggle the pros and cons of a digital existence, but perhaps the true game is in trying to strike a balance. amazing work!

This article encapsulates why I’ve always hated the “If a friend doesn’t interact with my social media all the time, they’re a bad friend” argument. Why are you using the same criteria that content creators use to validate their products and services to an intimate relationship? Eloquent article!

Love this piece. Lately I haven’t been experiencing much of the pros for instant communication and my desire for disconnection grows more and more everyday. I no longer see the benefits of being tied to the game which is now communication. I’m truly a quality time girl and I grow closer and closer to completely removing myself from social media every day.

The bit about how hinge is incentivizing deeper connections is very interesting. I wonder if Tinder/Bumble could do the same without hurting their bottom line.
