madison! you’re an inspiration to us all for taking such a big step and being so vulnerable about it. i feel like i’m a couple months behind you on this journey so i don’t have much advice to contribute but i definitely am metaphysically beaming my belief at you. i’m a big believer in artists having the ability to create not just our art but also our realities and our dream lives. your writing itself proclaims that your next chapter is just a blank page away. reminding you that this holds true for your life as well. sending all my love and strength <3 you got this and all the best on the workshops!
as artists, i feel like we have no choice but to create our own realities/dream lives, as being an artist requires going "against the grain" in so many ways! it can be an isolating experience at times, which is why I'm grateful for platforms like Substack where we can find community while finding our way. this comment made my day, thank you so much for your well wishes :)
I find myself in a similar position to where you were, before taking the leap. The "golden handcuffs" of a steady job have be locked in right now, and there are elements that I love about it. I am in awe of your bravery, also excited for the in-person event:)
Thank you, Marco! The "golden handcuffs" are so comfy, I can't lie 🥲 There's never a comfortable time to leap, but I'm really enjoying it so far. Excited to see you at the event!!
